After earning his degree in Banking and Finance from the prestigious University of St. Gallen (HSG), Hans began his career at Credit Suisse in Zurich.

His exceptional talent quickly propelled him to become one of the youngest Managing Directors in the bank’s private banking division. Seeking to broaden his horizons, Hans joined Goldman Sachs in London, where he specialized in advising ultra-high-net-worth clients across Europe and the Middle East.

In 1988, Hans recognized a gap in the US market for truly independent family offices – institutions that could offer impartial advice free from conflicts of interest inherent in large financial institutions.

With this vision in mind, he founded Zoia Capital as a fully independent entity dedicated to serving families with unparalleled discretion and expertise. Though Hans has passed away, his legacy remains deeply embedded in our firm’s ethos.
